July 9, 2007 Meeting
Over 35 activists spent a warm summer evening at Tugboat’s North Sea House, attending the July 9, meeting of the Surfrider Foundation Eastern Long Island Chapter. Sarah Newkirk, The Nature Conservancy’s Conservation Project Director, provided a lively & animated presentation entitled “Sea Level Rise & Coastal Development on Long Island”. : Read more about this meeting.......

November 10, 2006 Meeting
On a warm autumn evening, after a couple of days of excellent surf, about fifty Surfrider activists met at Aqua East in Montauk for the final 2006 meeting of the Eastern Long Island Chapter of Surfrider. Chapter Chair, Tom Naro kicked off the meeting by introducing two guests from the Montauk Historical Society, Bill Wilkinson and Richard White. Read more about this meeting.......
July 11, 2006 Meeting
On Tuesday, July 11, the Eastern Long Island Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation held their summer 2006 membership meeting. Among the topics discussed were:

On November 4, twenty-five activists participated in the autumn 2005 meeting of the Surfrider Foundation, Eastern Long Island Chapter. Rookie Chairman, Tom Naro presided, like a seasoned veteran. The Eastern Long Island Chapter's "Good Bye Winter" meeting was held on Friday evening, March 18th at John Duck's Restaurant in Southampton. Fifty politically involved and outspoken members joined us for a lively discussion with three representatives of the Army Corps of Engineers (ACE). ......Read more

The Fall 2004 meeting was held in Water Mill at Gin Lane Restaurant. Over 50 members met to discuss the myriad of issues facing our chapter. Kevin McAllister, Peconic Baykeeper was the featured speaker. Kevin outlined Baykeeper's mission and goals and found much common ground with Surfrider's platform. The Summer 2004 meeting was held in Montauk at the Montauk Downs Golf Course. Tom Dess, Superintendent of State Parks in Montauk was the featured speaker. Tom provided clarification on the new interim policy governing surfing at Camp Hero. Eugene Alper, Chapter Chair, led discussion on other issues facing our chapter. Read more about this meeting...
Western Long Island - First Chapter Meeting - April 30, 2004
An additional meeting is scheduled for April 30th at 7:00 pm at Babylon Town Hall Annex. The purpose of this meeting is to launch the Western Long Island Chapter of Surfrider Foundation. All are welcome. Please attend if you want a voice in this chapter.
April 23, 2004 Meeting
The Spring 2004 meeting was again held at the Gin Lane Restaurant in Water Mill. Assemblyman Fred Thiele Jr. presented various areas of environmental action and concern that he is working on. His views on beach and ocean access and environmental quality are very much in line with Surfrider's initiatives. Eugene Alper, Chapter Chair, also laid out Surfider's focus for the coming months. January 16, 2004 Meeting
Over 70 brave souls attended the "first annual coldest night of the year" meeting of the Long Island Chapter of Surfrider Foundation. The Gin Lane Restaurant in Water Mill provided a warm and friendly location for the January 16 meeting.Congressman Tim Bishop was the featured speaker and by the conclusion of his remarks it was clear that Surfrider has a friend in Congress. October 24, 2003 Meeting
A standing room only meeting was held at Gin Lane Restaurant in Water Mill on Friday October 24th. We had tremendous turn-out and dealt with a number of issues. Most importantly we established a network of area respresentatives to help in improving communication between the local community and our organization. Read more about this meeting...
